[edit] History

[edit] Popular Culture

In addition to being known in the Westcoast rap community, they are also one of the few companies to make a 24 karat gold wheel. Dayton wire wheels are regarded as the wheel of choice for lowrider cars, with the 13 inch and 14 inch reversed spoke wheels being the most popular. Dayton rims have also been referred to as "D's" by many rappers.

50 cent mentions he uses Dayton rims in his song "Get In My Car".

[edit] Other Companies

There are many other wire wheel manufacturers. Some of them include OG, Luxor, Player, Roadster, and LA wire wheels. These companies provide similar style wheels at a much lower cost than Dayton wire wheels. In many cases, people can't afford authentic Daytons, so they resort to buying the cheaper product.
