Eric Neustadter, known by the pseudonym e is the Operations Manager for Xbox LIVE, the Microsoft gaming network with over 17 million unique users,[1] a position he has held from 2002 to present[2]. Neustadter is frequently a co-host of Larry Hryb's "Major Nelson Radio" a weekly podcast produced by the Director of Programming for Xbox Live. Neustadter picked the gamertag e in the initial stages of Xbox Live as an abbreviation for his first name. Prior to taking the position with Xbox Live, he was working with Microsoft in another capacity.

[edit] Podcast

As a co-host of "Major Nelson Radio", Neustadter presents the weekly segment Xbox 101 (a segment devoted to lesser known features on the Xbox 360 or Xbox Live) as well as being a contributor to the rest of the podcast.

Larry Hryb picks on Eric Neustadter on almost every podcast for not finishing games, yet Eric has a much higher gamerscore than Larry. Eric loves the Civilization Series and loves playing Civilization Revolution on Xbox Live on the Xbox 360.

A posting on the halo.bungie.org forums revealed that "e" has played Halo with a Guitar Hero Controller [3], and Eric and Major Nelson discussed this on the podcast that came out on June 15, 2008.

Neustadter asserts that his gamertag "e" is not an allusion to any illicit drugs, that it actually stands for the first letter of his name[4].

[edit] Other media

Identifying himself only by his Xbox Live gamertag, "e", Neustadter briefly appeared in the video at the end of the Xbox 360 viral marketing campaign OurColony. In his role as Operations Manager for Xbox Live, Neustadter appeared in a video which was included with all consoles of the Xbox 360 when it was originally released. Neustadter is also credited as contributing to Halo 3 in the role of "Platform & Xbox Live: Microsoft Xbox" [5]
