Te (Т, т, italics: Т, т) is the letter in the Cyrillic alphabet corresponding to T in the Latin alphabet. It represents /t/, a voiceless dental plosive, except when followed by ь or any of the palatalizing vowels, when it represents /tʲ/. Small cursive Cyrillic т (T) looks like Latin m (M).

It arose from the Greek letter Tau.

[edit] Variants

The Serbian and Macedonian variant of cursive lowercase te can be seen in the penultimate row's centre in this list of Macedonian letters.

In cursive type (except Serbian and Macedonian), the lowercase form looks much like the lowercase Latin m:

т

In the Serbian and Macedonian cursive alphabets, it looks like a lowercase Latin m inverted by 180°, with a stroke above to distinguish it from the otherwise identical cursive lowercase Sha:

т (supposed look like sha with stroke above: ш̅)
